Barbecue Table Setting
Years ago I thought only Texans chose Barbecue receptions, but after helping 1000′s of couples to create upscale Barbecues all over the country, I have come to realize it is a delicious theme that everyone enjoys. Not expected but a wonderful surprise is to include all the same details as a hotel wedding but with a Barbecue theme like I have in these photos. I use black plastic plates or black plastic dinnerware. This makes a wonderful Bridal shower theme as well as a wedding idea.

Posted by: | CommentsI know that this post is way too late for anyone to benefit from my fall wedding ideas, but actually this brown and turquoise wedding table setting works for any night time event through March.
Anyway here is some research I did for you. Susan Cordogan writing for www.chicagonow.com, had some very good fall wedding ideas. One was to serve warm drinks during the cocktail hour like hot apple cider, kicked up of course, and “mock-tails” for non drinkers. I think that it is a perfectly acceptable to just serve this to greet your guest in place of a whole extravaganza with Hor’s d ourves and/or a bar. In my new book “How to Produce A Wedding Reception that Looks Like It Cost $36,000 For $6000 Or Less” I have a section all about cutting the cost of providing something to drink while guests are waiting to be invited into the reception. This is a great idea. Not only will it warm everyone up coming in from the cold but it promises to relax everyone and warm up your celebration. Another fantastic fall wedding idea Ms. Cordogan had, can be used in place of, or as an addition to add to a Sweet Table……………..DIY Smores!

Budget Wedding Ideas Blog
I seem to be considered an expert when it comes to saving money on wedding receptions but the truth is that I am an expert on how to make a wedding reception look like an upscale event by including all the details one would find in a hotel wedding but how to DIY with easy crafts and my product line.
So, in this section I will do my best to search for any good budget wedding ideas I can find. I also welcome any ideas you have discovered.
- Wedding Favor
I am often asked just what using disposables saves. I am also always being asked for tips for saving money. And the problem is that I can say that disposables will save money over using worn out rentals, but that is not what I am about. I am about creating or mimicing an extravaganza for less money. There is a big difference.
Example: It will save money not to use a napkin ring, however I don’t avocate doing without the detail, what I advocate is that you create one yourself that will be both unique, cost less, and that guests can take home as an additional favor. A couple attending can use them for dinner for two at home or as an inspiration to make some more for their own family size event.
This is not to say that I won’t be giving you ideas I find for cutting costs but I just wanted to make it clear that any cost saving ideas I give you will not impact your presentation.

This is a beautiful presentation for a Black and White wedding reception, however we now have 3 price levels of square plates and a fantastic contemporay “fabric” we use for Runners and or TableCovers. The fabric mimics organdy and is stitched on all side.

This was a cute idea I found but it can be done for a fraction of the price. I can’t image what they think is worth so much as your local craft store sells shells and tags and you can skip the box and just fill your table top with sand…it is a beach event isn’t it!?
