I’m at Michael’s near Coconut Grove shopping for wedding centerpieces that match David’s Bridal colors. Watch this video to learn how to match the colors. I used white plastic plates.

Fancy Butter wedding idea

A unique wedding reception idea that sets the stage for elegance

DIY Fancy Butter

I call it Fancy Butter.

It is not uncommon to see “fancy butter” at high end receptions, but since I advocate setting your tables even if your serving Mc Donalds from a buffet….why not DIY and set the stage.

The butter…stamp it, press it, stack it……………..just use your butter as a means to entertain and delight your guests with a unique butter presentation. Go wild and use your own imagination to produce “an amuse” everyone will remember.

This first photo with the miniature bagel might show up in the ” Ethnic Wedding Ideas” section but since I love the little butter wedding cake, (icing can match your own color story) I am showing it off here.

Food Talk

Introducing our own culinary expert Deborah Bruno Gellman, my sister in law and a graduate of Johnson and Wales University. Johnson and Wales is located in Providence, Rhode Island and has one of the top culinary arts programs in the country..

Hello Everyone,

I am so excited to write my first blog. As some of you know from our telephone conversations and e mails I love to talk about food. As customer service manager of DivineDisposables.com and CateringSupplies.com, I have the pleasure of listening to all of your wedding ideas and at some point the food you are serving always comes into our discussion. Some of you are very creative with your menus, especially the wedding “DIYers” and some of you are looking for suggestions and ideas. I have been asked for recipes, creative ways to cook for a budget wedding , how to figure out how much food you will need, wedding cake decorating advice ..and the list goes on and on. which started me thinking how great it would be to share all this information. If you have a question, need advice, have a great recipe or decorating tip..I want to hear from you!

Fall Wedding Ideas

Posted by: | Comments (0)

I know that this post is way too late for anyone to benefit from my fall wedding ideas, but actually this brown and turquoise wedding table setting works for any night time event through March.

Anyway here is some research I did for you. Susan Cordogan writing for www.chicagonow.com, had some very good fall wedding ideas. One was to serve warm drinks during the cocktail hour like hot apple cider, kicked up of course, and “mock-tails” for non drinkers. I think that it is a perfectly acceptable to just serve this to greet your guest in place of a whole extravaganza with Hor’s d ourves and/or a bar. In my new book “How to Produce A Wedding Reception that Looks Like It Cost $36,000 For $6000 Or Less” I have a section all about cutting the cost of providing something to drink while guests are waiting to be invited into the reception. This is a great idea. Not only will it warm everyone up coming in from the cold but it promises to relax everyone and warm up your celebration. Another fantastic fall wedding idea Ms. Cordogan had, can be used in place of, or as an addition to add to a Sweet Table……………..DIY Smores!

Ethnic Wedding Ideas

So in America, just what is an “ethnic wedding idea”? I am thinking it means going back into one’s family roots to honor your family history. So I will try my best to find affordable product and ideas, but so far I need to tell you it is hard to do as most ethnic supplies are expensive.

Christmas Wedding Ideas

Christmas Wedding Ideas
This first photo was taken on the set of Univision’s Desperta America ,where the theme was “inexpensive but novel wedding reception ideas”. What I did was take one of our disposable Cupcake Trees and “do it up” with Latin foods for a Sunday afternoon Tea reception. I had a great time at my local craft store buying the ribbons and stayed up a whole night combining, pleating and hot glueing until I fell asleep excitied about my result. This could also be considered a budget idea as a Tea is much less expensive than a buffet, and charming as well.
