Escort idea I love

Posted by: | Comments (0)

I have to give full credit to the Kendall Pfeffer for this very charming wedding reception idea
Fruit and Veggie Escort Cards
Coordinate your place card display table with your centerpieces, all while giving your wedding decor a unique rustic touch with this simple DIY idea.
Use a different fruit or vegetable to designate all of your tables. Arrange each type of fruit or veggie below a numbered table card and simply pin each place card to the appropriate artichoke, radish, carrot — or whatever else happens to be in season. If you like the earthy look for your table numbers, try a hardware or craft store for broken pieces of bark or wood scraps that could easily be turned into table number holders.
Just remember — live vegetable or fruit seating cards won’t last long — you’ll need to have these done the morning of or the day before the wedding so that your vegetables are still smelling fresh.
Not into the rustic feel of fresh veggies? Substitute them with marzipan fruit escort cards for an early spring wedding (they’d also be great for a bridal shower). These are easier to work with, since they can last months when properly refrigerated. Either way, you’ll have a sweet or savory idea to help show your guests to their seats at the reception.
I like this so much I am using the idea for placecards for my Thanksgiving dinner!

Don’t just think Reception

Posted by: | Comments (0)

Discover the cure for the pain you feel not being able to entertain for the holidays!
Not everyone owns enough place settings (that match) to set a dining table for extended family and dear friends. For Thanksgiving, Christmas, or even New Years. Our new wave divine disposables alleviate the stress of creating unique and matching place settings …. especially if time, money, inspiration or experience are in short supply.

About this time every year Debbie and I get bombarded with suggestions for outdoor wedding decoration ideas.
We ask our brides if they have any objection to serving barbecue? We ask because everyone loves the food, it is not expensive and it doesn’t have to look anything like a picnic! You can include all the details I always advocate and have and “out of the box” reception that will be long remembered as “soooooooo fun” (as my grand daughters have taught me to say).
Click here to get some “starter” ideas: http://www.divinedisposables.com/modules/cart/products.php/nav_id/38/page/1/id/283/name/WEDDINGDIVINEDISPOSABLESWestern
I will be searching the web for what ever else I can find and then we we go on to the next subject everyone is asking about “home made wedding table decorations”

Wedding Reception Planning

Posted by: | Comments (0)

Event wedding planning….continuing the Australian thread…..

Hello again,

Our custom in the USA is to have a prenuptial or rehearsal dinner on friday night, the wedding reception on saturday night and an “Out of Towner’s” brunch on sunday for the guests who have traveled to get there. That’s what we did for my daughters wedding so I understand your feelings completely. It is all over in a blink of an eye.

Your setting sounds beautiful and memorable, as well as a gift to everyone. I have been thinking about your theme and love it. I also would choose the Masterpiece white/silver ( the 6″ liner/bread and butter plate is often used as a cake plate as well as it is a bit less expensive than the dessert plate)

Do you need a liner as well?

Will you need a plate for “nibbles”?

A napkin for “nibbles”?

A fork for “nibbles”?

A dessert napkin?

What color are the roses to be for the centerpiece?

Would you consider imprinting either the dinner napkin, nibbles napkin or dessert napkin in silver?

I am thinking about the color of the runners, so as to compliment your antique table linen. I am a collector myself and mine all tend to be a bit yellowed, but I will wait to hear about your roses and can make it work in any case.

Last question for today…..how are you with a glue gun? I am thinking about napkins rings ( 6′ of gorgeous ribbon with baby pearl boarders) and adding matching boarders to your runners?!?

Looking forward to helping, Janyce

So to continue with my customers outdoor wedding reception and wedding ideas:

Hi Janyce,

Thank you so much for your assistance.

I hope to answer your questions.

The wedding is our first, for our eldest daughter.  To be held on October 2nd this year- which is our Spring time.

Due to the groom coming from Western Australia & we live on the East Coast, the guests are traveling a long distance.  With this in mind, I decided to continue on the celebration to the following day.  Also my husband & I don’t want this special event to end !  Weddings are over in such a short time & as we will have spent the next months organizing & finalizing, it seems a shame not to continue with a party the following day.

v    Theme: Pearls + Vintage

v    Number of Guests: 40

v    Setting: Verandah overlooking acreage onto river- tables to be setup on verandah (large area) with white timber folding chairs

v    House colour scheme- Timber large glass doors & windows-ceiling to floor, surround timber paint  very dark grey.

v    Buffet  with Aussi BBQ – hot & cold meats, seafood & salads. Food presented Buffet Style on indoor large dining table, then guests to be seated outside on verandah.  Includes pre-dinner eats ( or “nibbles) & dessert

v    Table covers- Antique linen tablecloths

v    Table centerpieces: white with splash silver 6 branch candelabra- fresh roses & floral  arrangement

v    Table setting  has glasses, silver cutlery- ( I will not have enough champagne glasses though)

v    Serving platters- mostly white

  Requirements:

·        Table runners  x  5

·        Chargers – thought silver

·        Dinner Plates – liked Masterpiece silver

·        Butter plates- I would use for dessert.

·        6” liner plate

·        Dinner napkins

·        Champagne flute – either Legacy or Newbury

I do hope you can suggest something sensational for my post-wedding party.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Regards

A.F.

Reception decorations

Posted by: | Comments (0)

I just received this delightful email from a “will be” customer of my e-commerce site divinedisposables.com. It is from Australia and I thought I would share it with you for two reasons. One is that plastic plates sounds so charming when you call it crockery, and two, I thought I would share the process of how I help someone communicate their vision.

Hi,

Am amazed at your wonderful designs & supplies for a wedding.

Unfortunately , in Australia, we have nothing that equals what you can provide- they are fantastic.

I am having a party the next day at our home for my daughter & her new husband (to be) but want to continue with the theme of a wedding.  I prefer the plastic disposable plates as I have enough crockery but not of the one design & of course my dishwasher would be working overtime if I used crockery !!!  I have plenty of cutlery & glassware but really need the assortment of plates, bowls etc & table runners.

Do you sell the “divine disposables” collection separately, as mentioned above?

I am prepared, obviously, to order products, so I can have a knockout wedding party the following day.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Regards

Hi,

Thank you for all your compliments as well as congratulations on the marriage of your daughter.I am very happy to help but need to ask some questions first so that I can best direct you..

I apologize in advance for being so intrusive.

What is your menu?

Are you serving by buffet?

Are you setting your dining tables?

What color/s are your table linen?

How many guests are you serving?

Do you need napkins for the bar or dessert?

Do you want something to compliment your home, and if so what colors do you use?

What color/s are your serving platters?

Do you want something to compliment the Reception theme, and if so what colors are being used?

If you still like me after all this homework I have given you, as soon as you get back to me, the fun part begins when I start directing you to look at specific product choices.

My goal is to surprise and delight your guests, Janyce Granoff
