Reception decorations
Posted by: | CommentsI just received this delightful email from a “will be” customer of my e-commerce site divinedisposables.com. It is from Australia and I thought I would share it with you for two reasons. One is that plastic plates sounds so charming when you call it crockery, and two, I thought I would share the process of how I help someone communicate their vision.
Hi,
Am amazed at your wonderful designs & supplies for a wedding.
Unfortunately , in Australia, we have nothing that equals what you can provide- they are fantastic.
I am having a party the next day at our home for my daughter & her new husband (to be) but want to continue with the theme of a wedding. I prefer the plastic disposable plates as I have enough crockery but not of the one design & of course my dishwasher would be working overtime if I used crockery !!! I have plenty of cutlery & glassware but really need the assortment of plates, bowls etc & table runners.
Do you sell the “divine disposables” collection separately, as mentioned above?
I am prepared, obviously, to order products, so I can have a knockout wedding party the following day.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Regards

Hi,
Thank you for all your compliments as well as congratulations on the marriage of your daughter.I am very happy to help but need to ask some questions first so that I can best direct you..
I apologize in advance for being so intrusive.
What is your menu?
Are you serving by buffet?
Are you setting your dining tables?
What color/s are your table linen?
How many guests are you serving?
Do you need napkins for the bar or dessert?
Do you want something to compliment your home, and if so what colors do you use?
What color/s are your serving platters?
Do you want something to compliment the Reception theme, and if so what colors are being used?
If you still like me after all this homework I have given you, as soon as you get back to me, the fun part begins when I start directing you to look at specific product choices.
My goal is to surprise and delight your guests, Janyce Granoff
Centerpiece wedding Idea
Posted by: | CommentsFood Talk – Aunties Valentine Menu
Posted by: | CommentsI come from a big family…half Italian and half Irish, and we get together often but it never seems like I actually get to visit with my female family members. We are always busy cooking, serving or cleaning up after everyone else (sound familiar?)
Well I decided a few years ago I would treat my Aunts and female cousins to a “Ladies Luncheon” so we can really be together! And what is a better holiday to celebrate the women you love than Valentines Day? And so we can really be together at the table I use disposables so no one is stuck in the kitchen.
I’ll use an olfin table cover with one of our new satin pink runners.. of course I’m using disposable plates. I think the Masterpiece plate with silver rim and the Reflections cutlery will pull in the silver from the plates. I use 8oz or 10oz wine glasses as a water goblet..simple and very elegant. A beautiful flower arrangement of deep red roses and a rose tucked into each white better than linen napkin and the look will be complete. The colors will be white, pink, and deep red with silver accents. I love to use our disposable products, they look beautiful and clean up is a breeze and allow me to be creative as I am not working around my same old ” good dishes”
Now for the menu:
Honey and Balsamic Glazed Strawberries
Seafood Newburg En Crut
Lemon Asparagus
Duchess Potatoes
……………………….
Creme Brulee
Fresh Fruits and Cheeses
Cofffee
This sounds fancy but if you plan ahead it’s pretty simple.
CREME BRULEE
ingredients:
6 cups light cream
12 egg yolks
2 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons vanilla extract
1/2 cup brown sugar
Put the cream in the a bowl over the top of a pan of gently simmering water. Stir in egg yolk, beaten with the sugar and vanilla. Continue cooking until the cream has thickened enough to coat the back of a wooden spoon. Strain the cream mixture through a cheese cloth or clean dish towel to remove any lumps. Put mixture into one souffle dish or mini souffle dishes and chill for at least 4 hours.
Sprinkle a layer of brown sugar over chilled cream. Place the souffle dish on a bed of ice cubes in a broiler type pan and place under the broiler until sugar is brown and caramelized. Careful not to overdo this step as sugar burns quickly. If you are a foodie or your husband is handy you can use a small blow torch to caramelize your souffle as well. It’s lots more fun!
If you’d like to have your own luncheon and want a recipe or advice on a menu or table setting please contact me. It will be my pleasure to help in any way that I can.
Happy Valentines Day to everyone,
Deb
Favor Wraps
Posted by: | CommentsUnless you are very creative, most brides, settle for some cute dodad that is of very little use …..I always would prefer some candy, but this is about presentation. No matter what your gift, I advocate wrapping it to entertain and amaze. Even chocolate Kisses, my personal favorite and very inexpensive, elegantly wrapped is the real gift as I learn about a new ribbon available, a new box and I am entertained and impressed with the thought and effort. I always coordinate the favor wrap design with my table decorations to add another layer of color story. Take a look at some of my efforts.
Fancy Butter wedding idea
Posted by: | CommentsI call it Fancy Butter.
The butter…stamp it, press it, stack it……………..just use your butter as a means to entertain and delight your guests with a unique butter presentation. Go wild and use your own imagination to produce “an amuse” everyone will remember.
Theme Wedding Ideas
Posted by: | CommentsYears ago I thought only Texans chose Barbecue receptions, but after helping 1000′s of couples to create upscale Barbecues all over the country, I have come to realize it is a delicious theme that everyone enjoys. Not expected but a wonderful surprise is to include all the same details as a hotel wedding but with a Barbecue theme like I have in these photos. I use black plastic plates or black plastic dinnerware. This makes a wonderful Bridal shower theme as well as a wedding idea.

Introducing our own culinary expert Deborah Bruno Gellman, my sister in law and a graduate of Johnson and Wales University. Johnson and Wales is located in Providence, Rhode Island and has one of the top culinary arts programs in the country..
Hello Everyone,
I am so excited to write my first blog. As some of you know from our telephone conversations and e mails I love to talk about food. As customer service manager of DivineDisposables.com and CateringSupplies.com, I have the pleasure of listening to all of your wedding ideas and at some point the food you are serving always comes into our discussion. Some of you are very creative with your menus, especially the wedding “DIYers” and some of you are looking for suggestions and ideas. I have been asked for recipes, creative ways to cook for a budget wedding , how to figure out how much food you will need, wedding cake decorating advice ..and the list goes on and on. which started me thinking how great it would be to share all this information. If you have a question, need advice, have a great recipe or decorating tip..I want to hear from you!
